My name is Taylor, and for those of you who are new here, I must say it is an absolute pleasure to have you. I am both a wife and a mother to two remarkable children at this time. My journey into marriage and motherhood has been one of my most refining chapters yet. Through motherhood, I originally lost myself, which only led me to understand what it really takes to live a purposeful life. This chapter I'm currently in changed my heart posture entirely, giving me a desire to serve my husband and family in selfless ways. However, this change didn’t take place because of becoming a wife and a mother; it was something else completely. Someone.
I have done blogging and podcasting in the past, focusing on wellness and personal development. However, I struggled to write and speak from a place of authenticity because I was deeply troubled in my own heart with bitterness, shame, unforgiveness and resentment towards myself and others. I felt like an imposter every time I put out content, especially when discussing peace, because whatever peace I had ever experienced was always fleeting, depending on the circumstances. I have always had a passion for personal growth, character development and psychology, but I never knew where to begin or what to do. I have always had the desire to teach or lead in some capacity, but I have no idea where to start and second-guess whether I am even good enough to do so. I began to think, “How can I really help anyone if I can’t even help myself?"
As someone who, after years of pushing back the gospel of Christ and only partaking in “sugar-coated” Christianity, I found purpose not in what I thought I wanted but in obedience to God and His refining work in my life. The more I pursued Him and allowed Him to teach me and correct me, the more my life began to feel empowering and meaningful. He offered me a level of strength outside myself to penetrate my heart and start healing it one step at a time. Through Him, and Him alone, I have discovered my identity and purpose for which I was made, and that is to glorify Him in all that I do.

The church has steered far away from the truth that this world works in opposition to God’s design for a life of unity, love, order and peace. Many churches do not provide sound biblical teaching to build disciples for Christ and are more concerned about the comfort of their congregation than standing firm in truth. Sadly enough, many churches don't even open their Bibles when teaching and cherry-pick scriptures to feed you sugar-coated messages that make you feel good.
The purpose of God's word is to convict you, correct you, and lead you towards holiness - not leave you comfortable where you are. "But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: 'Be holy, because I am holy.'" If the word of God and biblical teaching doesn't excavate your heart and make it new, then are you really in relationship with God? The gospel is not something we can pick and choose from in terms of what we want to obey; for Christ is Lord & Saviour, not just Saviour. He is to be revered because He is worthy and bought you at the high price of His very own blood.
"But Samuel replied, 'What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.'" (1 Samuel 15: 22)

Although I am certainly not perfect, and sanctification is a lifelong journey, He has grown me into the greatest version of myself, and I’m not even close to where He will take me. This is the life He desires everyone to have, and this is the life I desire to help lead people towards.
My only prayer is that, with the work I pursue this time around, and the helping hand of the Lord, we can create a generational shift. This movement will build up the body of Christ in a way that is pleasing to Him while equipping them as disciples to lead and build others up in love, further advancing the truth of the gospel.
My first act towards this goal is the Fervent Faith Podcast, a place where Christ can be exalted and the transformative power of His Word can renew the hearts and minds of its listeners, leading them to live purposefully with the strength to be joyfully obedient and please the Lord in all they do. After all, isn't He worthy?
